DEBBIE MACKLIN

Welcome to my website! I am an artist, working in oils from my studio at the foot of the beautiful Malvern Hills.

I mostly paint landscapes, be it our immediate surroundings, the varied countryside in other parts of Britain, or beyond our shores. Nature never ceases to offer up ever-changing beauty in light, colour, shapes and mood, and that is the inspiration for my work. I also enjoy composing and painting Still Life. More recently, I have begun to include figures in my work. 

I've always loved drawing and painting, taking sketchbooks and watercolours on holidays, joining life classes and painting groups. My professional life was in journalism and communication and I never had a formal art training. However, at the ripe old age of 59, I discovered the inspirational teaching of British contemporary artist, Martin Kinnear , founder of the Norfolk Painting School, and completed his Diploma Course in oil painting in 2019.
